Moffat Pipe, Inc. Receives Safety Program of the Year Award from Builders Mutual
On October 12, during the NCHBA’s STARS Award gala in Charlotte, NC, Moffat Pipe, Inc. (MPI) received the Safety Program of the Year Award from Builders Mutual Insurance Company.
Moffat Pipe, Inc. specializes in water main, sanitary sewer and storm water sewer installation and repair and is a member of the Raleigh-Wake County HBA. They make providing a safe workplace their mission and a core part of their company culture. MPI employs a safety consultant who conducts mock OSHA Inspections and provides onsite employee training. Their new hire employee training process includes completing a series of trainings, reviews, quizzes and wearing special hard hats so that co-workers recognize them and are able to provide additional guidance and training during their first 90 days on the job.
To make managing all safety procedures more effective, the company utilizes a Field Safety Management program that houses all safety forms, reports and employee training information. The program includes an app for smart phones that allows quick and easy access on the job-site.
