National Equipment Register

Raleigh, N.C. — Builders Mutual Insurance Company (BMIC) has entered into a strategic alliance with National Equipment Register (NER) to provide a unique service to eligible policyholders.

Equipment theft is a growing and costly problem in the construction industry and has a direct impact on a company’s bottom line.  Through this joint endeavor, NER will add eligible BMIC policyholders’ heavy-equipment information (including descriptions and serial numbers) to their secure and confidential online registration.  The information is stored in a national database used by law enforcement officials to track down stolen equipment.  NER  also provides policyholders warning decals as a theft deterrent to display on registered equipment.

Builders Mutual is pleased to offer our customers this  risk management benefit and an extra layer of protection against job site theft.

“We believe this working relationship with NER will be mutually beneficial to our policyholders and company.  It provides a risk management resource for customers who want to take a proactive approach toward preventing job site equipment theft and provides security if a theft does occur,” stated Ron Adams, Director of Risk Management at Builders Mutual.

Risk management is an integral part of the culture at Builders Mutual.  The business agreement with NER will deter theft, increase productivity, and furnish policyholders with another valuable risk management tool.
