The Data Warehouse Developer assists senior level developers in the design, development, and implementation of business driven information system solutions in a timely and efficient manner using data warehouse dimensional modeling techniques, corporate intranet technologies, SQL coding and end-user reporting tools.

Job Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with at least 5 years of data warehousing project related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient SQL skills for query execution in support of data analysis
• Strong systems analysis, problem solving, and design skills
• SQL Server 2005 or above BI Toolset including SSRS, SSIS (or similar environment)
• Extensive experience with multidimensional modeling and development
• Experience with SQL coding and extracting data from various source systems
• Experience with business support operations in the Insurance Industry
• Experience with or exposure to .NET programming

Job Preferences

Job Summary

The Underwriting Manager reports to the AVP of Underwriting and is responsible for managing underwriting and rating operations in assigned states or territories to achieve corporate operating, financial, people and customer goals .

Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed new business production, retention, and profitability goals for the assigned territory.

• Make and manage underwriting decisions within territory to accept, decline or modify risks.
• Achieve profitability of assigned territory book: develop, recommend, and, implement necessary action plans including changing eligibility, pricing and forms.
• Evaluate competitive position of products in the market place for pricing and coverage.
• Partner with marketing to identify new opportunities for product enhancements.
• Review complex referrals including composite rating, large deductibles, and manuscript forms.
• Ensure compliance with all industry and state regulations for assigned territory.

Manage staff members and ensure staff are qualified, trained, and developed to meet business opportunities.

• Through direct and indirect supervision: recruit, select, train, mentor, develop, and manage quality and performance of staff members such that goals are met or exceeded, and staff engagement and satisfaction are high
• Achieve exceptional customer service by meeting or exceeding established service standards.

Serve as a functional expert as needed on information technology issues that affect the territory or department.

• Monitor and review Agency Link automated rules.
• Partner with other functional departments on business project implementation.
• Assist with workflow design and management.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters Degree preferred. 10 years of work experience in the insurance industry with solid knowledge of risk selection and pricing. Must have a record of having successfully achieved business goals, including managing staff members, preferably in a property and casualty insurance company. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Insurance or course designations required (e.g. CIC, CPCU).
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work across all levels of an organization and develop cross-functional alliances as needed.
• Product expertise in the areas of commercial coverage and pricing.
• Demonstrated ability to underwrite accounts over $100,000 in premium.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma (BA degree preferred) with at least  1 year of commercial insurance experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of general business and insurance principles, as well as experience and/or training in workers' compensation, commercial auto policies, and general liability endorsements is preferred.
• Strong computer skills required.
• Candidates must successfully pass a math and typing test.
